<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 1/28/2024 - Quote -Life</image:title>
<image:caption>"This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." -George Bernard Shaw</image:caption>

<image:caption>I'd like to introduce an exercise shared by Anjali! Whether you've bid farewell to your 2024 resolutions or have already set the wheels in motion for a fantastic February with habits compounding, this exercise is designed for your future. Even if you've done it before, leaping forward to envision the next decade prompts you to contemplate how you want to foster growth differently. This exercise encompasses all aspects and values of your life. If individually, or with a partner you're embarking on this journey together with - it encourages reflection and specificity regarding your current state, your ideal vision for the next 5 years, and the person you aspire to be in the next 10 years. The goal isn't perfection; rather, it's about nurturing expansion in alignment with your greatest life progression. As always, embrace what resonates with you, and feel free to leave the rest behind. <image:title>Klouty Perspective - 1/28/2024 - Roots - Fresh Start</image:title>
<image:caption>There tend to be 4 types of people: 1. New Year, New Resolutions, and Mantras. 2. New Year, Continued Resolutions and Work. 3. New Year, leave me alone I’m stuck. 4. Time is made up and we’re all ever-expanding beings minute by minute. Okay.. maybe not literally. Your perspective will always be a reflection of your experiences and the moment in time that you currently occupy. You may be in an insane groove right now to start the year. You may have never considered how to do things differently in the first place. You may be postponing your efforts towards anticipated external change. If you resonate with your current self and surroundings, amplify that connection. For those seeking change, reflect on the greatness within and what you already possess before proceeding. Each day mirrors how you approach your weeks, months, and years—the very essence of your life. Where can you double down and focus forward? How can you let go and clear space?</image:caption>

<image:caption>“You say ‘amateur’ as if it was a dirty word. ‘Amateur’ comes from the Latin word ‘amare’, which means to love. To do things for the love of it.” -Mozart in the Jungle “You must cultivate activities that you love. You must discover work that you do, not for its utility, but for itself, whether it succeeds or not, whether you are praised for it or not, whether you are loved and rewarded for it or not, whether people know about it and are grateful to you for it or not. How many activities can you count in your life that you engage in simply because they delight you and grip your soul? Find them out, cultivate them, for they are your passport to freedom and to love.” -Anthony De Mello</image:caption>

<image:caption>Today I have these questions for you - there are no “right” answers and no judgment: Feel free to answer me directly by replying to this email, it will be well received. 1. In the last 12 months, what is the moment or “thing” you are most proud of? 2. Looking into 2024, who are you most looking forward to following in their success? 3. If you had to.. which person, business, or movement from 2023 would you brag on? 4. How would you change your approach to life in the next year? 5. What would you like to see from Klouty Perspective moving forward (more of, or, different)? BONUS: What was your favorite song from the last year?</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 12/3/2023 - Roots - Purpose</image:title>
<image:caption>Recently, I had a heart-to-heart with my sister, Anjali. We got into the whole, "Love what you do, and do what you love" idea. We kicked around the vision of shaping a life around our dreams. Now, it's not always a walk in the park to groove to that tune. Hesitations pop up, and shadows lurk. We thought we once knew what we wanted, and life has challenged this “knowing”. But, as we do.. we cranked up the music anyway. If you're in the same boat, unsure about your purpose but sensing it, how do you move forward? Where can you inject passion, even if your purpose is as clear as mud? And why bother syncing up with your instincts? Here's the deal: It makes you feel ALIVE. Isn't that what it's all about, anyway? Your instincts aren't just there to keep you ticking; give 'em a nod. In a world obsessed with grabbing stuff, what if we flipped the script? Shifted focus to the intangibles—skills for a richer life, curiosities for sharing knowledge. Learning from my sister has always been inevitable for me. Often underestimated because of her soprano-pitched voice and sweet demeanor, she refuses to settle for anything less than fulfilled. When she doesn’t see it in front of her, she looks to create it. Challenging her older brother to not only think bigger but to believe it, see it, and create it! After this wonderful chat with Anjali, I dug into my favorite go-to newsletter, James Clear's "3-2-1", where he shared two quotes (below) that embodied our conversation better than I could.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 11/05/23 - Organ Donors This week, we're focusing on our ability to save lives and create meaningful change as organ donors. The quote pictured to the left captures it perfectly - often, we don't fully grasp the impact of something until it directly affects us. One organ donation can save up to 8 lives. Witnessing a loved one get a second chance at life is a miracle that words can't do justice to. It reminds us of our potential to make a profound difference in others' lives. Consider this: every 10 minutes, another person in need is added to the organ transplant list. It's a stark reminder of how many aspects of life are beyond our control, but it also underscores the power we possess to give something that can have an impact well beyond our control. Now, is it always that simple? No. It has an impact on your loved ones. This topic may call you to ask questions that I encourage you to research, and then develop an opinion for your own decision-making. There are a number of factors to consider. As always, it isn't my job to convince you of anything. I'm here to share my own perspective and shed light on where light might be shared.</image:title>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 11/05/23 - Roots - Time</image:title>
<image:caption>In honor of the clock “Falling Back” for daylight savings, a thought about time itself: Throughout history, people have had varied notions of time. From ancient scriptures like the Bible to Sanskrit texts in Hinduism, we've documented our evolving understanding of the clock's measured ticks and the moments we hold. Diving further into the concept of time, the ancient Greeks gave us two essential terms. Kronos symbolized the steady, measured passage of time, like a continuous march through life. On the other hand, Kairos represented the idea of "deep time," where time momentarily pauses, and the elusive "right moment" when everything aligns perfectly. We live in a society where we are encouraged to move forward quickly. Whether this is right or wrong.. does not change that life itself will challenge us to experience the moment at hand. Grasping the intricate relationship between Kronos and Kairos empowers us to choose our own rhythm in sync with the clock's movement.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 10/6/23 - Science of Happiness</image:title>
<image:caption>Today's highlight revolves around a recent podcast I came across. The guest featured in this episode is Arthur Brooks, a Harvard Professor and the co-author of a book with Oprah Winfrey, titled "Build the Life You Want." This book delves deep into the recipe for a happier life, blending data and resources from neuroscience with timeless philosophical ideas. It all points toward how our brains are wired for a good life. I'm not sharing this to shove the concept of "happiness" down your throat. Instead, I want to introduce you to some tools and ideas that challenge the conventional wisdom we've been fed. Concepts like embracing suffering and negative experiences as pathways to a more fulfilling life. It's about shifting our focus away from ourselves and toward others. These are simple ideas, but they're not always easy to put into practice. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id1368888880?i=1000629877041</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 10/6/23 - Roots - Open Mind</image:title>
<image:caption>One evening, my friend offered me some Yum Yum sauce to go with my rice and chicken. My initial instinct was to decline because, well, I'm not big on condiments other than ketchup or A1 sauce. I almost said no to something called "Yum Yum" because of some random food rule I'd created for myself. Can you believe that? As it turns out, I found it absolutely yummy. Not only that, I’ve now got 5-6 new sauces in my back pocket. I used to dislike walking. I'm all about running and playing sports, but just walking for the sake of it? Not my cup of tea (and don't even get me started on hiking). My girlfriend, on the other hand, is a fan of leisurely walks, and she encouraged me to join her consistently. She loves flowers, animals and any other thing nature brings. Now I recognize a Japanese Maple Tree with joy, and point out every agave plant (lotus flower on land) I see. Who would’ve thought? Whether it's appreciating life's small wonders or daring to say "yes" when "no" is your default, the key lesson I've learned is to get out of your own way. We're constantly presented with opportunities, even if they appear as obstacles initially, that can expand our horizons. Pay attention to what adds vibrancy to your life and propels you forward. Don’t shy away from sharing your joys with others, you never know who will join the movement of a tasty fresh raspberry jam.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Today’s shoutout is to a new business in the health and wellness marketplace, and my good friend Kate with her partner Amber. RaveMom Wellness stemmed from her love of Music festivals and the pain she would feel after having a good time for a weekend of sweating and partying. She felt like these festivals had no problem selling booze and bad food, but there was never anything to help you sustain. She then would bring her little baggy of vitamins and supplements, and she of course would share with her friends. They jokingly would thank “Mom” for always taking care of them. It is meant to be a daily supplement that supports anyone with an active lifestyle. With natural ingredients like turmeric and ginger, it is meant to replenish you for functioning at the highest level. She has launched her pre-sale on her site below, go check it out and support. If you are someone who has an idea and sees a pain point in an area you are passionate about, Kate is a great example of how and why you should go for it. Using her network and the internet to push through anything she didn’t have the answer to. She has been resourceful and curious as she’s created a very thoughtful solution in a short period of time, without ever rushing. A formula to replicate. https://www.ravemomwellness.com/ Instagram: @ravemomwellness</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 9/1/23 - Roots - Essence</image:title>
<image:caption>Essence is ‘the basic nature of a thing’. The quality that makes a thing what it is. Imagine life only seeing things as they are, for what they are. As they Feel, Taste, Smell, Sound, Look, With a clear lens. This isn’t quite how we are wired as humans. We are storytellers. Using our working senses to our highest potential melts appreciation into the essence.. creating magic in the mundane only through the presence of this simple formula. The comfort of a fresh pair of sweatpants on a lazy sunday, The sweetness of warm caramel hidden inside a brownie, Fresh-cut grass lingering in the air before you even step into the park, Your favorite song stopping you in your tracks to move where you are, The moon and stars shining at night - insisting that you look up. Welcome things as they are with the open arms of gratitude. For what else can we do?</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jon Brown, my good friend that you previously read about shared this excerpt with me, and although we do not know the original source - it was too good not to share. Read this picture, then move forward. It not only explains the mentality behind continuous learning - it explains how necessary it is to be honest with yourself about how good you really are. No matter what, you are likely not the best. If you feel the need to argue that, good. Pay attention and read again. This mentality isn’t to debunk your ability, but rather to encourage you to keep refining. Remember our previous conversation, do not compare yourself to anyone other than the friend in the mirror. AND know - you are not alone. No matter what you are doing. Where do you have room to accept your current state and room for improvement? No matter the answer, keep going. You’ve got this.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 8/25/23 - Truth</image:title>
<image:caption>https://www.axios.com/2023/06/23/hard-truth-about-truth Per today’s theme, above is a brief article on the Hard Truth About Truth. It is directed towards honesty in the workplace, and I think the included 5-step process is replicable across our lives, if we choose to consistently try it. This article opens with, “The biggest lie we tell ourselves is: We crave truth” and I personally love it. I share this because I want to encourage everyone to be welcoming recipients of another person’s truth. Particularly when we ask for it. To not, “shoot the messenger” as they say (of course, delivery from the messenger is key and can be reflected back to them kindly if inappropriate). The 5-Steps: 1 - Tell it. 2- Desire it. 3 - Deploy it. 4 - Deal with it. 5 - Live it. A lot of us associate the truth with CONFLICT, and I think this helps reframe our minds. Of course it typically takes a Two-Way street, but even when you are not met in the middle, truth does not have to mean negativity.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“The quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or harmed.” -Definition I share this as a precursor to a 90-second video that sheds light on the 3 levels of truth in our relationships. Although we FEEL like we may be attacked, often when we choose vulnerability we open doors for another human to also be just that, human. Honesty, Transparency + Vulnerability</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 8/11/23 - Roots - Communication</image:title>
<image:caption>I share an article today in light of hoping to learn something from what I teach, and, practice what I preach. This article shares the Wilson Learning Social Styles model of the 4 categories we as humans fall into. There are other models like the Myers Briggs, D.I.S.C, Ennegream, and other personality tests that tell us the different ways we as humans “exist”, if you will. This article shares it relative to the workplace, and it can be taken across your relationships in life if you choose so. Without realizing it, many of us communicate the same way to everyone. Often we wonder why someone is not understanding us, when in reality, we have not taken the time to understand them. We may speak the same language without indeed speaking the language. The key to our success within communication is our ability to invest in versatility, or, the willingness to adapt. So, a couple of pointers. 1- Identify the social style of the person you are speaking with. 2- Reflect on the social style and expectations this person has of you (and vice versa). 3- Modify your behaviors to maximize the effectiveness of your communication. This may sound elementary and almost silly.. but consider this: In this model - all humans are simplified and categorized into 4 buckets (imagine if it was more). This means - you think and communicate in the same style as 1 in 4 people you meet. For fluid and congruent conversation, it takes a certain level of curiosity for us to communicate effectively with other people. We cannot assume that others understand us, and vice versa. This assumption is where spoken and unspoken conflict lives. And yes, for those of you who do your best to meet people halfway (without compromising yourself.. that’s another conversation all together) only encourage others to meet you in the middle. The article is clean and to the point, give it a read: https://trainingmag.com/versatility-the-engine-of-success/</image:caption>

<image:caption>Some of you may have already known this, but I did NOT.. This past Monday while checking out at the Trader Joe’s line.. I look down at the end of the register to see a newspaper. Little did I know this was their monthly Newsletter of all of their new items along with magical descriptions of the food. As always - I am not here to convince you of anything other than to lift your head up and look around. It’s everywhere. Here is an excerpt of a snack I had ironically already had in my cart: “Under most circumstances, a crispy, crunchy, cocoa crème-filled wafer cookie would be reason enough to get excited. When you add peanut butter to the mix, well, now that’s where things get positively thrilling—and thrillingly, that’s the precise pairing that powers Trader Joe’s PB & C Snack Duo. Made for us by the same supplier behind our celebrated PB & J Snack Duo, TJ’s PB & C Snack Duo exchanges one iconic flavor combination for another, for an equally delicious end result. Each box comes with six individual snack-packs; each snack-pack contains eight baton-shaped, cocoa crème-filled wafer cookies and a sidecar of soft, slightly salted peanut butter dip.” P.S. This snack is delicious.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This week’s newsletter is dedicated to the people who have done nothing but support the beginning couple of months of Klouty Perspective. Across the board. I initially started this as a weekly commitment to myself as a passion project, something I would enjoy creating for me that has nothing to do with money or competition. And yet, more wealth has come through this newsletter than I could have imagined. Books, people sharing with friends and family, ideas for future editions, personal experiences, curiosity, and love. It has only brought me to further understand the only competition for what we want is time, and ourselves. Often you’ll find the person who is most critical of you.. is you. That’s ok, keep it that way. Just don’t neglect the much-deserved 5-star reviews. Go with your gut. Fail. Get up. Fail. Get up. Again. Keep going. Adapt. Don’t ridicule your former self, credit them. Think of how proud they would be to see you handle things you never thought you could. And just when you think you’ve got it figured out, keep going, patiently. In life, winning is subjective. Success is for you to define and enjoy. You come to realize the only way to repay those that believe in you is to continue to be YOU, to the fullest. If I was to persuade you of any one decision within your success.. share the fruits. Be proud of yourself. Include others with a smile. It all comes and goes around.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 8/4/23 - Roots - Kindness</image:title>
<image:caption>I heard a story recently of how an extremely successful businessman was able to raise great kids in spite of his immense wealth. So grateful for the compliment, he didn’t claim to have an answer. However, he recalled asking his kids the same 4 questions every single night, without fail: “-What was the best part of your day? -What was the worst part of your day? -What is something kind someone did for you? -What is something kind you did for someone?” The ability to recognize the highs and lows of your day, and still close your eyes ready for a fresh start is powerful. As a result of the latter 2 questions, the businessman’s kids looked all day for evidence of people being kind to them, along with opportunities for them to be kind to the world. To move forward through the ups and downs in kindness cannot be undervalued. On a daily basis, this compounds into a life of gratitude.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 7/30/23 - Mitch Albom</image:title>
<image:caption>In elementary school, I struggled with writing, particularly the order of words. One of the ways I overcame that was through.. reading. Funny how that works. At that time, every Sunday morning at 7:30 am I would make myself a bowl of cereal, and plop my butt on the couch to enjoy watching the Sports Reporters. 4 sports reporters would sit in a semi-circle while discussing different current events within the sports world, each speaking authentically from their own lens and background. Writers that spoke how they wrote, and wrote how they spoke, fascinated me. Years later, I was gifted the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. Little did I know, he was the Detroit Free Press Sports Columnist that anchored many Sports Reporters episodes I watched as a kid. Also famous for Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom writes thought-provoking stories that challenge your perception of faith and life. More recently, he wrote The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto, easily my favorite book I’ve ever read. Like always, I don’t tell you this to convince you to read Mitch Albom. I share this because I was serendipitously gifted my favorite author. This gift has impacted my perspective on life. Be open to the things people share with you. Continue down the path to learn more about the strangers that make an impact in your life. Embrace their work. When the time comes for you to share it, share. When the time comes for you to find a new author or food recipe or workout plan, etc.. be curious.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 7/30/23 - Roots - Present. Moment. Action.</image:title>
<image:caption>There are a number of different schools of thought about how we learn as humans, and I’ve only scratched the surface by reading a few. Ironically, the one that resonated with me the most came from Wikipedia.. In this case, there are 3 simple principles of learning; Readiness, Exercise, and Effect. Readiness: “Since learning is an active process, students must have adequate rest, health, and physical ability. The basic needs of students must be satisfied before they are ready or capable of learning.” This may seem obvious, but it cannot be overlooked. When we have not prepared ourselves, we are not the “blank slate” or “sponge” that we think we are. Learning itself cannot truly be done on top of other thoughts, either. Our ability to focus is far more effective when we have given ourselves a fighting chance to be in the present. Effect: “However, every learning experience should contain elements that leave the student with some good feelings. A student's chance of success is definitely increased if the learning experience is a pleasant one.” Before the first exam in my freshman year accounting class, as he handed the papers out, my professor announced, “If you get a warm and fuzzy feeling after adding up both sides of the sheet to the same number, I have news for you.. you’re going to be an accountant.” Safe to say I didn’t get the warm and fuzzies.. Although I joke, there is credence to this. Not all learnings we receive are enjoyable; pay attention to the ones that put a smile on your face. I think we are meant to lean into our strengths in life. They are gifts to open. Exercise: “Every time practice occurs, learning continues. These include student recall, review and summary, and manual drill and physical applications. All of these serve to create learning habits.” Implementation can often be the toughest part of our experience. We may know, but unless we DO what we know, it is just knowledge that hasn’t seen action. As the saying goes, A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. How can you set yourself up to be ready? Where do the positive effects repeat in your life and expand you? Lean in. Exercise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principles_of_learning</image:caption>

No one is going to take you outside to absorb a few rays of sunshine or beams of moonlight. No one, and I mean no one, is going to get you to drink that glass of water or take that bite of lunch while it is still lunctime. No one will put you to bed early, no one will put away your phone. No one will make space for you to write, or sing, or dance, or run, or any of the things you did before you became the worker, the caregiver, the superhuman. No one will remind you that your desire is more important than your productivity and that no matter how much you get done, it won't matter if you've lost the sight of your joy. No one can do it. Any of it. No one. Except maybe you." Melody Godfred, The Self Love Philospher (Left Brain - Thinkers) Self Love Poetry</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 7/14/23 - Roots - Present. Moment. Action.</image:title>
<image:caption>If I had to cook for myself as a kid, I could make a PB+J for lunch and Mac N Cheese for dinner like it was nobody’s business. As you can imagine, even as tasty as both of those things are, that wasn’t sustainable for older me. I’ve had my days where I just don’t want to cook, resulting in getting takeout or making something quick and lazy.. and neither feels better than just cooking. We all have the thing we know we need to do and don’t want to. The ironic realization in my reflection - I love cooking. Really, I haven’t liked cleaning. My college roommate and great friend Tom, taught me the valuable lesson of cleaning as I go. Something I now refer to as PMA - Present Moment Action. If the veggies are still cooking and the chicken is done - clean the chicken pan while the veggies finish. Now this may seem so utterly simple to some folks, but this isn’t necessarily about cleaning. Nor does this method need perfection. This is about indirect efforts that allow other things to flow smoothly. If you drive - you then need to get gas. If you take yoga, you need to put your mat and blocks in the car. If you’ve worked all day, you may need to charge your phone or computer. For some, this may mean charging while you work. For others, the method may be charging overnight. This takes understanding yourself. For some of you that are very good at taking little actions, this method may require quite the opposite approach. Someone has offered to cook and clean for you.. and your PMA is just to sit and be present and gratefull. Or nicely asking your spouse, child or roommate in the other room to plug your phone in for you. This may seem counterintuitive to PMA, but maybe that means it’s worth a try. In today’s day and age, stillness is indeed an action. As always, there is no right or wrong on how to go about this, it is more so about creating space for yourself moving forward. You are in charge of your own needs. We can really only control our efforts in life - and sometimes one small extra effort is what makes future you, gratefull for.. you. You may have something else come to mind through all this that you struggle with. What is a small Present Moment Action you can take that future you would be gratefull for?</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 7/14/23 - Savannah’s Sunset Social</image:title>
<image:caption>I’ve been very fortunate to have grown a beautiful network of people in my time, personal and professional. Thankfully - I’ve learned a valuable lesson too. Growing your network on purpose with people that align with you is very fruitful. Quality and quantity are allowed to coexist. Like anything, it often takes quantity to know the quality. What you find valuable may be different from the next person. Today’s spotlight is on my friend Savannah Stehman. For anyone that knows her, she is a positive walking ray of sunshine that works very hard to be better every day. After we worked together at the Suns, she moved into the Real Estate space where she has thrived and grown her business very well. Now, she is starting a professional social group where she can facilitate people growing their network. Because she didn’t grow up in Arizona, she feels like she doesn’t have a “person” for everything. She wants to change that for herself and others. We all know, it’s way better to have a mechanic you trust than it is to have to take your car to the dealership. This is the same. For those of you here in AZ looking to grow your network, I am happy to connect you with her to join this group. For those of you not in AZ - keep this practice in mind. If I was to come to your city and need a haircut, I wouldn’t expect you to cut my hair, but if you suggested a Barber you trusted, I would be very gratefull. Connecting people to other people that can help them is something that encourages abundance, even if it doesn’t directly serve you. It all comes around.</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 7/7/23 - Roots</image:title>
<image:caption>My Dad was born in Ireland and came to the U.S. when he was 19. My Mom’s parents were born in India and came here when they were 20. I’ve had a great upbringing in this country and am privileged to be American in the fashion that I have been lucky to experience. From 18 years in New York to now over 5 years each in Charleston, SC and Phoenix, AZ, in that order. I’ve come to one conclusion.. We live in an Empire. Literally. Now a lot of people laugh when I say that. But I’m not kidding. Why do you think the United States of America has been such a force? 50 states of their own governing bodies are to be respected, abiding by one Federal body. Many different people and different cultures in different locations and climates, built from different beliefs, governed by principles that once were simple. We focus on our division, not our unison. We can all at least agree on that. Being a mixed brown kid rowing up in New York blessed me with an open perspective to people, granting me friends from all walks of life. My best friends through the years.. Creole and Jewish, Chinese and White, Black adopted by White People, French Algerian and German, Bolivian and Catholic, Generationally Black and White American etc.. You can’t make that up! I’ve been very lucky and blessed to know the people I have. Now I’m not here to convince you of anything. What I will tell you is, we have room to be grateful for the country we live in, whether we’ve come from it or not. The immigrants of my family have always expressed an immense appreciation for the life our family has worked very hard to create. Very hard. Anything that is difficult about our country, also exists in other countries. Crime, racism, gov’t laid barriers etc.. If you feel the need to argue about that, you win today, I’m not here for that avenue. Work hard and you can create the life you want, whatever that means to you! May we have to work harder for different reasons? Sure. Do we have certain things easier than those before us? Of course. We all can always have reasons that make our strife the hardest there ever was. Why fight for our limitations? The more we call out our own differences in hopes to be seen, the less we see each other. More so, the less we hear each other.. the louder *some* get, quieting those who don’t have the energy to bother. Do not be naive enough to think the rest of the world wouldn’t happily take our land and freedom from us. This isn’t to promote fear, it’s a reminder to count our blessings. Why not? Build. Focus on the opportunity at hand. Be curious about the stranger that may not look like you or where you came from. Create your legacy. If you don’t, who else will?</image:caption>

<image:caption>DUET I have recently begun a partnership with an organization that is changing the scope and education for caregivers. Particularly, the family that helps the family. Duet is a Non-Profit that is successfully offering compassionate services to family caregivers and aging adults, free of charge. They have started a particular program devoted to assisting the approximate 15 million family caregivers of families with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. If you feel the need to go to their website to be curious, please do. Particularly for my Arizona folks, this is a very cool volunteering opportunity to give a helping hand. If nothing else today, call the people you love and remind them of it. https://duetaz.org/</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 6/25/23 - Epic Conversations</image:title>
<image:caption>I stumbled upon this interview one day on YouTube. Ironic to the first ever quote I shared in this Newsletter - I had no idea who Rick Rubin was when I watched him interviewing Pharrell. I thought to myself, who is this barefoot old guy looking like Santa? He was asking such profound yet pointed questions, clearly tapping into Pharrell’s genius. A peak into both minds. GQ has its own channel for Epic Conversations, conversations between famous people of all kinds. From Dwayne Wade sitting down with Rick Ross, to Robert De Niro sitting with Al Pacino. Let’s say all of these people are famous, sure. More so, they are each extremely successful in their own industry. This platform is very cool in how it humanizes each of the people, reminding us that they traveled their own path like the rest of us. Simple practices, tapping into their own genius. Encouraging us to play big. Again, watch or not. Check out the channel for the interview you personally would enjoy. Share with a friend you think would appreciate it. Find ways to entertain yourself outside of the usual. Expand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnahkJevp64&t=307s (Rick Rubin x Pharrell)</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 6/25/23 - Roots - Life Force</image:title>
<image:caption>I’ve added a short 3 minute clip below (ignore subtitles) from the Netflix Documentary, Stutz. Jonah Hill created this documentary-form conversation between him and his therapist, walking through some of the tools and teachings his therapist provided him for everyday living. This particular clip resonates with me because of the friends that come to me, wanting to explore the idea of their life’s purpose. A- I appreciate that they even want to have this conversation, let alone with me. B- When I personally feel unclear, I aim to keep these 3 basic levels in mind as the first steps. C- I find there is a direct correlation between these struggles and the inability to believe in the best future for yourself. Level 1 - If you don’t physically move and eat well, there will naturally be traffic on the roads between your mind and body. If you don’t feel mentally clear, and for any reason you have been inactive or eaten poorly, this is a good place to understand the connection between your mind and your body. How can you change that with a simple step forward? My Dad always said don’t replace candy with “no candy”, eat some tasty grapes or watermelon. Enjoy the sweets of nature. Think of your habits as replenishment for the body’s basics, similar to an oil change for your car. Level 2 - If you don’t feel like connecting with people, where is there room for you to reach out to one person? Don’t worry about the end result, start with the output. Level 3 - Understanding yourself often takes intention and letting go of stale thoughts. Spend time with yourself. Move out of distraction, into focus. Write, meditate, breathe. Don’t judge, observe and be curious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KBPAbuK9DU</image:caption>

<image:title>Klouty Perspective - 6/16/23 - AXIOS</image:title>
<image:caption>In response to a question about fake news in 2016, Denzel Washington responded, "If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you do read it, you're misinformed…What is the long-term effect of too much information? One of the effects is the need to be first, not even to be true anymore." The spotlight this week is on a new source of information for current events in the world, AXIOS. The reason I enjoy this platform is that it takes a “Big Picture” look at current events, and offers multiple perspectives for you to look into. They work to counter the idea that news first is better than true news. Now, this is a share. Not looking to convince anyone of anything. If you have your own resources or avenues for your lens of the world, feel free to respond to this email and share! According to a 2022 report out of UC San Diego, the average American consumes about 34 gigabytes of data & information a day. For context, this equates to about 100,000 words - from the radio to the internet and everything in between.** If you are not responsible for how you consume information, someone else will be. My persuasion for you today is to be curious, explore, read, and look to understand. https://www.axios.com/</image:caption>

<image:caption>Today I want to share a little about a NonProfit that is near to my heart, Kaboom. Their mission is to end playspace inequity. Building playgrounds throughout the country has helped 12 million kids be just that, kids. Growing up, I was lucky people from all over the county would come play at the basketball court right by my house. We had 2 courts and lights that stayed on until 10pm. That was enough to entertain us daily, keeping us out of trouble and constantly meeting new people. I’ve learned in the last few years that sharing has created my own version of success. If I can encourage you to do anything, find something you care about and give back to it. Whether that be with your time or money, you have no idea how greatly that will impact someone, let alone yourself.</image:caption>
