Delayed delivery this week. Would love to present to you that I have this process down perfectly, but I don’t. Practicing progress over perfection, daily. Happy Sunday. Figured we can start the week together, let’s get to it.
We’re at about halfway through the year. Summer evenings sit with the soul a little differently.
The sun sits with us longer, giving us more light. Reminding you to play a little longer. Love a little harder. Work on or in something that makes you a little better. Not better like better than another. Better like more fun and more life, in this moment, for a better tomorrow.
Be curious. Expand yourself. Time will do as time does, continue. I encourage you to do the same.
And you know the deal.. drink more water, and turn the music up.

Roots - Life Force
I’ve added a short 3 minute clip below (ignore subtitles) from the Netflix Documentary, Stutz. Jonah Hill created this documentary-form conversation between him and his therapist, walking through some of the tools and teachings his therapist provided him for everyday living.
This particular clip resonates with me because of the friends that come to me, wanting to explore the idea of their life’s purpose.
A- I appreciate that they even want to have this conversation, let alone with me. B- When I personally feel unclear, I aim to keep these 3 basic levels in mind as the first steps. C- I find there is a direct correlation between these struggles and the inability to believe in the best future for yourself.
Level 1 - If you don’t physically move and eat well, there will naturally be traffic on the roads between your mind and body. If you don’t feel mentally clear, and for any reason you have been inactive or eaten poorly, this is a good place to understand the connection between your mind and your body. How can you change that with a simple step forward? My Dad always said don’t replace candy with “no candy”, eat some tasty grapes or watermelon. Enjoy the sweets of nature. Think of your habits as replenishment for the body’s basics, similar to an oil change for your car.
Level 2 - If you don’t feel like connecting with people, where is there room for you to reach out to one person? Don’t worry about the end result, start with the output.
Level 3 - Understanding yourself often takes intention and letting go of stale thoughts. Spend time with yourself. Move out of distraction, into focus. Write, meditate, breathe. Don’t judge, observe and be curious.

Quote - Patience
“Patience serves as a protection against wrongs as clothes do against cold. For if you put on more clothes as the cold increases, it will have no power to hurt you. So in like manner, you must grow in patience when you meet with great wrongs, and they will then be powerless to vex your mind.”

KLOUTY SPOTLIGHT
Epic Conversations
I stumbled upon this interview one day on YouTube. Ironic to the first ever quote I shared in this Newsletter - I had no idea who Rick Rubin was when I watched him interviewing Pharrell. I thought to myself, who is this barefoot old guy looking like Santa? He was asking such profound yet pointed questions, clearly tapping into Pharrell’s genius. A peak into both minds.
GQ has its own channel for Epic Conversations, conversations between famous people of all kinds. From Dwayne Wade sitting down with Rick Ross, to Robert De Niro sitting with Al Pacino. Let’s say all of these people are famous, sure. More so, they are each extremely successful in their own industry. This platform is very cool in how it humanizes each of the people, reminding us that they traveled their own path like the rest of us. Simple practices, tapping into their own genius. Encouraging us to play big.
Again, watch or not. Check out the channel for the interview you personally would enjoy. Share with a friend you think would appreciate it. Find ways to entertain yourself outside of the usual. Expand.
