There’s something humbling about the seasons changing and time moving. Take it in. A friendly reminder for a moment.. I love that you want to keep scrolling to read further, but sit with it for a second. Take a breath. Ironically, long weekends can often go by the fastest. It’s how time seems to move.
Yet, in 1894 when Labor Day was declared a federal holiday, our nation was made of 30 states. It wasn’t until 18 years later that the “Arizona” on my driver’s license became a state. I find that fascinating. We aren’t as far removed as we think.
Of course, we live a completely different life now relative to our ancestors in that time. Yet, somehow our needs haven’t quite changed the way we tell ourselves.
An extra day off of work, celebrating with the people we love, in light of that hard work. Eating good food, as music and laughter carry over the stresses we each choose to let go of for a moment. Let time stand still where you are, just for today.

Roots - Essence
Essence is ‘the basic nature of a thing’.
The quality that makes a thing what it is.
Imagine life only seeing things
as they are,
for what they are.
As they Feel,
Taste,
Smell,
Sound,
Look,
With a clear lens.
This isn’t quite how we are wired as humans.
We are storytellers.
Using our working senses to our highest potential melts appreciation into the essence.. creating magic in the mundane only through the presence of this simple formula.
The comfort of a fresh pair of sweatpants on a lazy sunday,
The sweetness of warm caramel hidden inside a brownie,
Fresh-cut grass lingering in the air before you even step into the park,
Your favorite song stopping you in your tracks to move where you are,
The moon and stars shining at night - insisting that you look up.
Welcome things as they are with the open arms of gratitude. For what else can we do?

Quote - Present
“Quit, don’t quit. Noodles, don’t noodles.. You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There’s a saying: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.” -Master Oogway
KLOUTY SPOTLIGHT
RaveMom Wellness
Today’s shoutout is to a new business in the health and wellness marketplace, and my good friend Kate with her partner Amber. RaveMom Wellness stemmed from her love of Music festivals and the pain she would feel after having a good time for a weekend of sweating and partying. She felt like these festivals had no problem selling booze and bad food, but there was never anything to help you sustain. She then would bring her little baggy of vitamins and supplements, and she of course would share with her friends. They jokingly would thank “Mom” for always taking care of them.
It is meant to be a daily supplement that supports anyone with an active lifestyle. With natural ingredients like turmeric and ginger, it is meant to replenish you for functioning at the highest level. She has launched her pre-sale on her site below, go check it out and support.
If you are someone who has an idea and sees a pain point in an area you are passionate about, Kate is a great example of how and why you should go for it. Using her network and the internet to push through anything she didn’t have the answer to. She has been resourceful and curious as she’s created a very thoughtful solution in a short period of time, without ever rushing. A formula to replicate.
